Day 4 | Son kul – Tash Rabat

After breakfast in the yurt camp, we go towards Tash Rabat Caravanserai.

Tash Rabat is probably Kyrgyzstan’s most remarkable monument; indeed, it is one of the most interesting sites in the entire central Asian region and its presence is in complete contradiction to the popular tenet that Kyrgyzstan is all about landscapes rather than historical sights. Tash Rabat is a Silk Road monument par excellence: a small but perfectly formed 15th-century caravanserai that sheltered an array of merchants and travelers along with one of the wilder stretches of the Silk Road. Its location is even more remarkable: tucked away from sight, half-buried in a hillside, up a valley at 3,530m above sea level.

Lunch, dinner and overnight in yurt camp.

Day 5 | Tash Rabat – Naryn  – Kochkor

After breakfast, we drive towards Kochkor town.

“Kol-Ukok” means ‘The Lake in a Chest’ and is nestling between two steep slopes in the North-Eastern Terskei Ala-Too Mountains. On the way there you may see marmots and badgers, hear mountain birds singing or the cry of an eagle, hawk, or griffin. Wolves, jackals, foxes, hares, and mountain goats live here.

Picnic on the road.

Overnight and dinner in Yurt camp.

Day 7 | Kol Ukok – Kochkor – Bokombaevo
